NIKK magasin no 1/2009 on leadership and prostitution

Berit Ås from Norway is best known for her theory on the five master suppression techniques. Meet her in the new issue of NIKK magasin which focuses on leadership and prostitution.

Berit Ås developed the theory on the five master suppression techniques in order to be able to explain to other women why they are so often rendered invisible and not taken seriously by men in positions of power. Master suppression techniques are part of the body language and can only be countered by being pointed out. In management issues master suppression techniques are constantly topical – not least when it comes to women in leading positions. This issue of NIKK magasin highlights the difference between the situation within politics and in business.

The issue also includes articles on prostitution in the Nordic countries. Researchers from all the Nordic countries studied the extent of and legislation on prostitution, as well as social measures in the field, and women’s and men’s attitudes towards prostitution.
